Privacy Policy
SmartKOK.gr is built to work without an account and without collecting personal data. This page shows exactly what is stored, where and why.
1. Who is responsible
SmartKOK.gr is operated by Karastamatis Web Engineering (karastamatis.gr), which is responsible for the website and for what this policy describes.
For any question about data or these terms, contact us through the contact form at karastamatis.gr.
2. In short
- No account is needed and there are no forms that collect your name, email or other details.
- We do not use cookies.
- We do not load analytics tools, ads or tracking pixels.
- Your test progress stays on your device and is not sent to us.
3. What is stored on your device
The website uses your browser localStorage (not cookies). This data stays on your device only.
| Key | What it contains | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| KOK_ADAPTIVE_LEARNING_V2 | Per question: how many times you answered right or wrong and how many right in a row. The total number of answered questions. | To run mistake memory and show your progress. | Until you press Reset progress or clear the site data in your browser. |
| smartkok:theme | Your choice of dark or light theme (not stored if you pick Auto). | So the website remembers the theme you chose. | Until you change it or clear the site data. |
This storage is needed for the service you ask for and contains nothing that identifies you, so we do not show a consent banner. If cookies or tracking tools are added in the future, this page will be updated first and your consent will be requested before they load.
4. Progress code (backup)
When you press Save progress, the code is created on your device and you copy it yourself. It does not pass through our servers. Anyone who has the code can see your test progress, so do not share it publicly.
5. Hosting technical data
The website is hosted on the Cloudflare platform (Workers and CDN). When you open a page, the provider processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser type and time of visit in order to deliver the page and protect the service from abuse. Cloudflare privacy policy applies. We do not use this data to build profiles or to track you.
6. External services
Fonts and question images are served by the website itself, with no Google Fonts or other external CDN. Only when a question image fails to load from the website, your browser may request it from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). In that case GitHub sees your IP address, as with any request to an external address.
Links to karastamatis.gr and other websites lead to external pages with their own privacy policies.
7. Purposes and legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Delivering pages and keeping the service secure (hosting technical data) | Our legitimate interest in running and protecting the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) |
| Storing progress and theme on your device | Storage strictly needed for the service you request, with no data that identifies you (Article 4 of Greek Law 3471/2006) |
8. How long data is kept
We keep no personal user data in a system of our own. Data stored on your device is under your control: delete it with Reset progress or from your browser settings. Technical request logs are kept by the hosting provider under its own policies.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as far as they apply to your data. Because we hold no profile or identifying data, we cannot locate progress data on your device. You can delete it yourself at any time.
If you believe your rights are infringed, you can lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
10. Minors
SmartKOK.gr is for driving license candidates. We do not collect personal data from any user, and that includes minors.
11. Changes and contact
If something changes in how the website works and it affects your data, we will update this page and the update date at the top.
For any question about data or these terms, contact us through the contact form at karastamatis.gr.
